2 Lay the display side of the larger sheet of washi down against the surface of the table. Brush paste evenly on the exposed underside.

3 Lay the back of the smaller sheet directly and squarely onto the pasted underside of the first sheet.

4 Use a scrap of paper as a “gateway” that will allow you to insert a knife easily between the board and the paper after the glue dries.

5 Carefully flip the back-coated assembly onto a smooth, hard drying surface, such as a piece of glass, plastic, or plywood. Use a wide brush to smooth the sheet. This applies the glued margin to the board’s surface.
